The Staff and Volunteers of CyPhaCon want to thank all of our Attendees, Guests, Fan Groups, and Vendors this year for making CyPhaCon the biggest and Best YET!!!!

We sold 659 passes for this years event and raised close to $1000 for Heroes for Holden.

We want to thank every single one of you that attended and look forward to seeing you next year. CyPhaCon will return to Lake Charles April 19th-21st 2013 and now on the First Floor Exhibition Hall of the Lake Charles Civic Center. We will be posting our pictures as soon as we can so keep checking back. It’s been a fun ride but we are looking forward to 2013. Time to relax a bit, don’t worry we have a lot of amazing events planned for next year !!!!

We will be posting pictures of the event as soon as we get them from our Photographer and we are planning on doing a new and improved website in the coming months.

The time has finally arrived CyPhaCon 2012 has officially begun. Come have fun with us !!!!!

• To anyone attending CyPhaCon our Hours of Operation are as follows FRIDAY 6PM – MIDNIGHT  /  SATURDAY 9AM – MIDNIGHT  / SUNDAY  9AM – 5PM

• Pre-Reg badge Pickup begins onsite at 6PM Friday as well as at the door registration. A meet and greet with the actors will be taking place around 7:45 – 8PM for 30 minutes. Of course gaming all night with the MechCorps Battletech Pods and in our Gaming Arena !!!!

• Vendors and anyone setting up Friday we will ask that you begin setup as early as possible. The staff will be on hand assisting anyone that needs help. We are opening the doors for our Vendors and Fan Groups to setup starting at 8AM Friday morning. Please get with our Floor Manager as soon as you arrive on site. CyPhaCon is taking place on the 2nd Floor of the Civic Center.

•  Parking will be at a premium at CyPhaCon this weekend so please be prepared to walk to the Civic Center if you do not arrive early. There is a map of the parking on our Venue Page for anyone from out of town that might need assistance.

• For anyone attending the Cosplay Contest, After Party and Special Larry Nemecek After Hours Panel at the Marriott  MUST park at the Target parking lot across the street. The Marriott Spring Hill Suites will be providing shuttle services for our guests parking in the Target Shopping Center. The bus will run regularly so you wont miss out. Also if you want to drop off anyone at the front entrance that is ok, but unless you are staying at the hotel DO NOT park in the parking lot.

The Staff of CyPhaCon wants to thank all of our attendees for being so supportive of us this year and the overwhelming support thus far. We pride ourselves on making CyPhaCon the very best convention by the fans, for the fans. We have a few things we want to explain to those who have never attended a convention before and have a bunch of updates so please be patient with us as we are almost there !!!

• Registration – I know we sound like a broken record but just as a reminder our pre reg ticket sales will end on April 11th at Paper Heroes and On the website. After our cutoff date you will only be able to secure your passes at the door. We  highly recommend you purchase your passes online to avoid having to fill out the registration forms on site. This will also allow you to get in faster and bypass the registration line and go straight to pre reg pickup and get your passes.  CyPhaCon has made our registration process a bit easier this year so the lines will be a bit less crazy. Also if you have Pre Registered you can pick up your badges with either you PayPal receipt or a Photo ID.

• Schedule – We will be posting our schedule Tuesday April 10th.

• Charity Auction – This year we are trying something very different with our auction. Instead of holding our auction late in the evening we will be holding it at 3PM on Saturday with Mr. Robert Axelrod conducting the auction. We have some amazing items donated for the auction this year so please consider bidding on these items. All the proceeds go to our charity Heroes for Holden.  For those who do not know, Heroes for Holden is a very special organization that needs donations to help little Holden get the surgery he needs to live a normal life. If you do not know the story of Holden please visit our page to understand why we chose him and his organization for this years charity.

• Cosplay Contest – For anyone interested in participating in our contest please go to our Cosplay Contest page and download the entry forms now. We are holding our Cosplay Contest at our host hotel the Marriott Spring Hill Suites here in Lake Charles. The Cosplay Contest is open to all attendees at CyPhaCon. If you have a badge and want to see what amazing costumes our guest have this is your chance. Note you do not have to send in your forms prior to the event. Just have them completely filled out and ready to go before the contest begins.

• After Hours Party – You asked for it and we have it. CyPhaCon staff has listened and we will be having our after hours party at the Marriott Spring Hill Suites Saturday Night starting at 9:30 PM till Midnight. It’s your chance to hang out and chill with other attendees and just have a great time.

• Parking – As previously announced CyPhaCon will be sharing the Civic Center with the Southwest Louisiana Crawfish Festival once again for 2012. Ironically we share the same anniversary, both events premiered for the first time in 2011 on the same weekend. We recommend anyone who is attending to please arrive at the civic center early. The Convention opens at 9AM on Saturday and Sunday. Please take into account that parking will fill up fast. We have provided a map on our Venue Page that shows the locations you can park in and around the Civic Center during the event. Many other events take place the same weekend of CyPhaCon and we anticipate this will be the norm for years to come. We are happy to be sharing the weekend with another amazing festival being held here in Lake Charles.

• Friday Meet and Greet – Friday Night we will have a small 1 Hour Meet and Greet with the actors at CyPhaCon. We will announce the time as soon as finish updating our schedule which will be released on April 10th.

• Vendors – To anyone wanting to vend at CyPhaCon we are almost to capacity on our Vendors Alley and Artist Alley. We do want to thank all of the amazing vendors and talented artist who are attending CyPhaCon this year, and helping the the biggest vendor area yet. If you have any questions please contact cyphaconguest@gmail.com for more information and seeing about securing your last minute spot.

• Photo Ops and Autographs – Our guests will be signing autograph’s and taking photo’s all weekend long at CyPhaCon. For those who do not know how this works we will explain. Most actor’s charge a fee for autographs and or photos depending on the their personal preference or contract with the event.  Autographs are also priced by guests and vary in range. Our guests will be charging for autographs which is common at all major convention’s. This year however our guests will not be charging for Photo ops at their table’s so feel free to stop by and take a picture with one of our guests. CyPhaCon does not set the price’s on autographs this is strictly at the discretion of the Guests.

• Food – For those who attended CyPhaCon last year know we did not have any type of food vending occurring at the event. However this year we plan to resolve that. Tentatively we have the Culinary Department from Sowela who will be providing food for CyPhaCon guests onsite. All proceeds from the sales will go right back to the Culinary department at Sowela this year. Also we will have a snack table setup selling assorted snack’s all weekend long. There are also vending machines downstairs for drink’s as well. And as with last year there will be plenty of food downstairs at the festival but you will have to pay an entry fee just to get in, that is not including the cost of the food purchases. Our biggest complaint last year was attendees having to leave for lunch and not being able to come back. The staff of CyPhaCon prides itself on doing what we can to make our attendees happy.

• Rules and Codes of Conduct  – We have updated our rules this year for CyPhaCon. Please review all of our rules and regulations for this years event. CyPhaCon staff security as well as Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs Officers will be on site all day at CyPhaCon. If you need assistance our staff and law enforcement officer’s will be there to assist.

As we get closer to CyPhaCon we will be making a few last minute announcements leading up to the event in less then 2 weeks. We received a few request from our fans and would like to take the time to address them so there is no confusion when you arrive at CyPhaCon.

• Registration -We have received a few questions about our Pre-Registration policies and we would like to clarify this for our attendees. For anyone who has bought a pass either online or at Paper Heroes you can claim your pre-reg passes at the convention without a receipt as long as you have a valid ID ( Drivers License or Student ID ). If you did purchase your ticket online you should have received an email with your PayPal receipt. If you did not please contact us at admin@cyphacon.com to verify your payment.  Pre-Registration and on site registration starts at 6PM on Friday April 13th at the Lake Charles Civic Center on the 2nd Floor.

• Volunteers - We have spots available for anyone wanting to Volunteer with CyPhaCon. This is a rewarding experience for all volunteers. All Volunteers will be treated to a full weekend pass for completing 4 hour work shifts each day at CyPhaCon. You will get to hang out with our Celebrities and help CyPhaCon out at the same time. If you are interested PLEASE go to our volunteers page here. Please email or send in your forms as soon as possible we request anyone wanting to volunteer please send in your forms prior to April 11th. We will be contacting you on when and where you will need to be prior to the event starting on April 13th.

• Parking – Due to other events occurring all weekend at the Lake Charles Civic Center we have put a Map of all parking locations for CyPhaCon here.  Please consider arriving early as we cannot guarantee any close parking spots for the event. Once again as with last year all parking in and around the Lake Charles Civic Center is FREE to the public.

• Vendors - We are very close to capacity for this years vendor alley and artist alley for CyPhaCon 2012. We have an amazing setup this year with more vendors and an even bigger artist alley. If you are interested in vending at CyPhaCon please contact us at cyphaconguest@gmail.com now before we run out of spaces and to secure your spot. For information on securing your spot please go to our vendors page here. Also if you are a vendor you will be receiving an email about our load in times and where to pick up your badges a week prior to the event from our floor manager.

• CyPhaCon is proud to announce a few great additions to our event this year. We are honored to have the local chapter of AmtGard attending the weekend of CyPhaCon. They will be doing presentations inside the Lake Charles Civic Center all weekend long and a panel as well. If you ever wondered what AmtGard is about this is your chance to see.

• CyPhaCon is Proud to announce CCP Comic will be attending our event for 2012. For more information on CCP Comics please visit our Comics page here.

• Volunteers - As we approach CyPhaCon we are asking anyone interested in volunteering with us to please fill out our volunteer packets and send them in so we can get you started. All of our volunteers will be treated to a full weekend pass to CyPhaCon upon approval by our board of directors.  Please go to our volunteers page to download our form and please send them in prior to April 12th.

• Cosplay Contest – We have an exciting event planned on Saturday evening at 7:30 PM. Our 2012 Cosplay Contest will be taking place at the Marriott Spring Hill Suites this year. We now have the cosplay entry form available online for download. We ask that you please review all of the rules which are located here as well as the entry form. We will have prizes for this years contestants and new categories as well. We look forward to seeing everyone in costume at this years 2012 Cosplay Contest at CyPhaCon !

• Vendors and Artist - We still have a few spots left at the event if you have not yet secured a table. Please Contact us at cyphaconguest@gmail.com to secure your spot. For all vendors and artist our official load in time has changed on Friday. We ask that you please start arriving around 10 AM for setup to begin. CyPhaCon staff will be on hand to assist you upon arriving at the Civic Center and helping you with transport of your items if requested.

• Tickets - We are recommending that you purchase your advanced tickets now online or at Paper Heroes here in Lake Charles. By doing this you will avoid the lines the weekend of CyPhaCon. All prereg badge holders will be allowed to start picking up badges opening day at 6Pm on Friday April 13th.

• Schedule - We are going to be posting our full schedule of events Friday March 30th.

The staff of CyPhaCon want to thank the staff and volunteers of Coast Con for an amazing event this past weekend. We want to thank everyone who was involved with an extremely well run event. We appreciate the invite and look forward to working with you now and in the future. Thank you once again from all of us on the staff of CyPhaCon  !!!

• Our $25 weekend passes go into effect March 16th ! Remember you can purchase your passes online with us or at Paper Heroes here in Lake Charles. Pre Reg passes will allow you to skip the lines and allow you faster access into CyPhaCon on Friday. Also we want to assure everyone who is attending this year that our prices for tickets will remain the same for our 2013 event.

• Our Gaming Schedule has just been added to our gaming page. Please note as we get closer to the event the schedule is subject to change.

• The staff of CyPhaCon is finalizing our events schedule and will have it posted in the coming weeks.

• If you are wanting to attend CyPhaCon we suggest staying at our host hotel for the event. We will have an after con dance and Cosplay Contest hosted at our hotel on Saturday evening. Registration forms for our cosplay contest will be on our site in the coming weeks.

• If you are attending Coast Con we will be setting up Saturday morning. Come by and talk with some of the staff of CyPhaCon we would be happy to answer any questions or suggestions you might have about the event.

• Finally if you are a vendor an or artist you still have time time to secure your spot in our vendor room and artist alley. Please contact cyphaconguest@gmail.com to secure your spot now !

• Our hotel room blocks are now booked and we have no more rooms at our special discounted rate as of midnight last night. We want to thank those who helped us fill all of our room blocks for the 2012 event. The Marriott still has rooms but they will be in short supply. You can still book your room, but our special CyPhaCon prices are no longer available. For more information on booking you can visit the Marriott Website and book your regular rate nights through them now.

• On March 15th our special $20 weekend pass special will end and our regular weekend pass prices of $25 will go into effect. So if you plan on attending CyPhaCon this year we recommend getting your weekend passes now to save a little money. You will also be able to still pre register up until April 9th here in Lake Charles at Paper Heroes or on our website. After that we will only selling passes at the door. If you pre register you will be able to avoid the registration lines and go straight to our pre reg table with your badges ready to go. You can purchase your passes here.

• We are only a little over a month away from CyPhaCon and we need your help. We are getting a lot of response from the community and a lot of talk about CyPhaCon locally. We ask that you tell you friends about CyPhaCon and to please visit Facebook and Like our page which can be found here. We also ask that if you are attending CyPhaCon to please let us know on our events page as well.

• One last little bit. We have an amazing gaming lineup that we are about to announce. As well as our full gaming schedule that will be posted in the next few weeks. We will also be adding our finalized layout and new parking maps for anyone attending out of town to know where to park for the event. Our guest are ready and excited to join us this year. So lets make CyPhaCon 2012 one to remember !!!
